I don’t remember what year we discovered this Florida state park, but I thought I would recommend it today.

Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is midway between St. Augustine and Daytona Beach on A1A and has something for everyone.

• Reenactors
• Tidal pools on the beach
• Coastal scrub and hammock for birding
• Fishing
• Hiking
• And a beautiful formal gardens
