Our Annual Beach Trip

For about fifteen years, we have gone to Cocoa Beach every winter for a family weekend.

The boys were visiting for Spring Break so we were still able to all go.

I’ve put together some photos from over the years.

If you are going to be visiting Kennedy Space Center or vacationing on the Space Coast, we can recommend some of the different things we have done in the area.

The Space Coast

If you are visiting the Kennedy Space Center or some other attractions on Florida’s Space Coast, we can also recommend:

• visiting Kennedy Space Center, of course
• birding from the comfort of your car at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge
• swimming and shelling at Cocoa Beach
• watching a rocket launch from Jetty Park or from Titusville
• looking at the stars through a free telescope at Brevard Community College
• kayaking at the Brevard Zoo.

Brevard zoo is a nice smaller zoo and they offer two guided kayaking tours, either at Expedition Africa or in a restored wetlands in Wild Florida. Jenny and I had a good time paddling past monkeys, giraffes and elephants.

As you contemplate the planets and starts through the telescope, remember … “no matter how large the universe, and how many beings reside within His kingdom, each of us can have God’s full and undivided attention in our own hearts.” Read more…

Cocoa Beach weekend

We enjoyed two days at Cocoa Beach with our friends, Clair and Edie.

It was very cold, so we did not swim, but we played football on the beach and watched a rocket launch at sunset.

After dinner we went to Brevard Community College to look through their telescope. We saw a nebula and Saturn, too.
