Jenny’s Links
• In eighth grade for homeschool, Jenny worked with Mom to create a family genealogy site. She included our possible ancestors, such as Alfred the Great of England, Charlemagne, and others. She also enjoyed looking up the Tartans for the Scots and the Irish on the Helgeson and Schmitt family trees.
Helgeson ancestry
We share common ancestry with Susan Helgeson. The first part of this web page about Helge and Ingeborg Halvorson and their son Ole Helgeson are Sus’ ancestors. Also see the links in the first part. After the paragraph which mentions Ole’s wedding to Ingeborg Oldsdatter, the rest of the page refers to Susan Helgeson’s family.

Hi Susan
I enjoyed the site about the Helgeson ancestry. In particular the photo of the lady with the wooden rake (I think it was). Labor saving devices anyone? In addition, the church is a dead ringer for Konigsvinger in Donnelly where Aunt Amanda is buried.
The H.Larson household is slowly approaching the cashing-out stage with physical problems. Theresa, my wife, needs a new right hip, but that had to be put off a couple weeks ago because she fell and cracked her sacrum. An operation wasn’t needed; she’s on her feet and walking some again. It is a very painful recovery time.
We were in Tennessee at my granddaughter’s baptism and got to be there during grandparent’s day at her kindergarten class at her adacemy. (I convinced Stephen and his wife to put her in a private school irrespective of the cost.) I really enjoyed visiting her classroom. I had to give a little talk about my early years, and believe it or not, I found my first grade report card from Donnelly Public to take along. I noted we didn’t have mathematics in first grade, but my granddaughter is counting by 2′s and 10′s to 100 in kindergarden. Probably, considering the vulgarity and general lack of discipline and control, it was a wise decision to keep her out of the government school system. As an ex-prof I have a pretty good idea how well the present day teachers are prepared.
Other than Theresa, all of the Larson progeny are well and active. It just occurred to me that with my Dad and all of my Uncles gone, I am the patriarch of the Nels Larson chain. Now that Allen is also gone, I suspect that will soon be Jim’s fate.
Love to all from Howard
I just came to this blog once. I haven’t all, sorry. But, I wish to come next time. Here I want to say hello and wish you all luck!!
I am from Indonesia–wondering:
“How can a family write all its story–supported by all of its members?”
